Welcome to my happy place

From Lab Coat to Art Smock

I have always loved visiting Colour My Pot. As a mother of 5 beautiful children, we have celebrated birthdays here and made gifts as well as attended many events throughout the years.

When the pandemic hit, the studio's takeaway kits provided me with a creative outlet as I worked evening and night shifts in a medical laboratory. I could work at a pace that suited myself and take on some bigger projects (some are now up in the studio). It was through one of these kits that I found a job at Colour My Pot.

At about 42 years old, I was diagnosed with AuDHD. I can remember random details instantly but often misplace things even when they're in my hand. In September 2023, I discovered a plate that hadn't been taken in for firing. During that visit, I saw a sign promoting a vacancy for a senior team member and asked about it. Although I have no formal artistic background and my last retail experience was before GST, I was certain I wanted to work at Colour My Pot and found out that I got the job on my husband's 50th birthday.

Where to from here?

It feels like I have blinked and its already been a year. 2024 has been filled with learning experiences and adventures and there aren't enough words to express my gratitude to the CMP family and crew. The studio is still my happy place and I hope that it gets to be yours too!
